Steve and Victoria Gore Welcome You to Julian

Julian is a cozy town located just an hour east of San Diego in the Cuyamaca Mountains. Its rich history and gorgeous location make it a charming community to live in. Located between the Anza Borrego Desert and the coast, Julian is a beautiful town that offers the serene atmosphere that city life can’t match.

Julian is famous for its apples, pie, and gorgeous seasonal wildflowers. Shops and boutiques line the sides of Main Street. Other attractions include several highly praised wineries, world famous restaurants, and the historic Mom’s Apple Pie Shop. Art galleries can be found in abundance, representing not only famous artists but also skilled local artists.

Unique to San Diego, Julian boasts four distinct seasons. Winter brings snow, spring brings showers and wild flowers, summer brings mildly warm temperatures, and fall brings autumn colored trees and a cool breeze. It is also close enough to visit the beach in winter when it is still warm in San Diego, though!

Julian’s location in the mountains makes it easy to go hiking or biking along the miles and miles of gorgeous trails that wind through the town and the surrounding nature. Horseback riding is another way to enjoy these amenities.

The atmosphere of Julian is quiet and laid-back, making it the perfect community for couples and families, as well as individuals who are looking for a serene place to escape from the ruckus of the city while still remaining in close enough proximity to enjoy the amenities the city has to offer.

Public & Private Institutions Of Learning

Education is provided by public, private and home schools. State governments set overall educational standards, often mandate standardized tests for K–12 public school systems and supervise, usually through a board of regents, state colleges, and universities. Funding comes from the state, local, and federal government. Private schools are generally free to determine their own curriculum and staffing policies, with voluntary accreditation available through independent regional accreditation authorities, although some state regulation can apply.
