The weekly evening car show, Cruisin' Grand, takes place on Grand Avenue in the heart of downtown. During this show, the street is blocked off and locals bring their unique cars and motorcycles to park along the avenue. Stroll through the enjoy the show, as well as the many bars, restaurants, and shops of downtown Escondido. Meanwhile, the Westfield North County mall offers a wide variety of shopping options on three levels. This mall is one of the only indoor shopping malls in San Diego County.

Escondido is served by the Escondido Union School District and the Escondido Union High School District, both home to acclaimed teachers and administrators. The city is conveniently located near the intersection of Interstate 15 (running north-south) and Highway 78 (running east-west) to allow for a convenient commute in any direction.
